According to the AzMERIT results, public charter school students have scored better than the state average in nearly every grade level and subject area from 2015 to 2018.
In comparison, students in other schools continue to underperform.
For example, 44% percent of third-grade students passed the reading portion of the standardized test in 2018.
Comparatively, 52% of third-grade charter students passed the reading portion in 2018.
