Teacher Feature Friday! 6/16/17
Welcome to our first “Teacher Feature Friday,” where we’ll introduce you to some of our fantastic AMS elementary and middle school teachers! Our teachers truly are the root of our schools. They work hard every single day and have a true passion for helping their students succeed. We are so grateful for each and every one of our educators! Today we will spotlight one integral teacher from each of our four schools.
AMS Prince – Jennifer Fletcher, 2nd Grade Teacher
Ms. Fletcher has been teaching at AMS for 6 years (and loving it)! She is always positive, energetic, and always up for adventure. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, photography, and Starbucks!
MASSA – Nina Mehta, Middle School English Language Arts Teacher/Instructional Coach
Ms. Mehta has been a teacher for nine years, the past 3 of which have been at MASSA. She is also pursuing a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. According to Ms. Mehta, when she’s not teaching, you may find her playing dress-up with her dogs or practicing yoga!
AMS Flower – Rachel Branham, Middle School Math Teacher
Ms. Branham has taught for AMS Flower for two years, and although she teaches math, she is also certified to teach English. She is a sports fan and led the AMS Flower girls’ basketball team to be the conference champions this year! Ms. Branham also loves the Baltimore Ravens, and enjoys taking her rescue dog on hikes.
AMS Camelback – Victoria Mnatsakanova, Russian Teacher
Ms. Mnatsakanova has taught for the Academies since December 2012, at both the Flower and Camelback campuses. In addition to speaking Russian and other languages, she is also talented in the arts, particularly photography. This year, Ms. Mnatsakanova helped two AMS students qualify for a 2-week Russian immersion course at ASU, which is the equivalent to a Russian 101 college course!
A huge THANK YOU to these teachers and ALL of our rockstar teachers! More Teacher Feature Fridays to come!
